NCPFC Newsletter - January 2020

New Year, New Website!

It's 2020 and we decided to fulfill a long-term resolution as an Association: create a new website for our contractor members and industry partners that better serve their needs.

We are happy to introduce the NEW www.ncpfc.org website which is focused exclusively for our painting contractor members. Take a look around, set up your personal log-in to access members-only resources and let us know what you think!

Negotiations: We Want to Hear from You

The Northern California Painters Master Agreement expires June 30, 2020. We want to be sure we do our due diligence and fulfill our obligation to best represent your business during contract negotiations with District Council 16.

To do that, we need to hear from you, our contractor members. Over the next few months we will be reaching out to get feedback but the sooner we hear from you, the better chance we have to do research and develop language in preparation for the beginning of negotiations.

Please send any questions or comments to Brooke Fishel, Director of Labor Relations, at bfishel@alliedtrades.org or by calling 510-428-9486. Your feedback can remain confidential if you prefer.

Want to know more about how the negotiations process works? We've created a handy negotiations process infographic and four-minute video to give you more insight into the process.

Where is the Economy and Construction Industry Heading?

Join us on February 20 to hear what Ken Simonson, chief economist with Associated General Contractors of America, has to say about the fate of the economy, what types of construction will thrive or dive and what that all implies for painting contractors in the Bay Area.

Register here.

Free Online Harassment Training Now Available

NCAT/NCPFC is now providing free online harassment training to our contractor members for their labor workforce and office staff to help meet the requirements of SB 778.

The new law requires companies with 5 or more employees (previously it was for companies with 50 or more employees) to provide 2-hour harassment training for supervisory employees and 1-hour training to non-supervisory employees by January 1, 2021 and every two years thereafter.

To get started with the online training for your workforce email training@alliedtrades.org or call Mary Loumeau at 510-428-9486.

2020 Wage Rate Sheets

The 2020 wage rate sheets, which include the raises outlined in the Northern California Painters Master Agreement can always be found on the NCPFC website by clicking here.
